Accommodations

The owner of Villa Kars has been so kind to offer not only the entire beautiful facility to us for the workshop, they are offering each attendee a 10% discount. Here with a breakdown of hotel costs, over person, based upon various room occupancy before the 10% discount (Rates below based upon today’s exchange rate of $1 = 480 Armenian Drams or AMD):

  • 25,000 AMD or $52 USD (single)
  • 35,000 AMD or $72 USD or $36 per person (double occupancy)
  • 45,000 AMD or $93 USD or $31 per person (triple occupancy)

We are making arrangements with an entire fleet of taxi drivers. Costs are being sorted but do not expect needing to budget more than $25-$30 per day.

All air transport to and from Yerevan, Armenia, are the responsibilities of each participant. Depending on where you are traveling from, there are amazingly low rates from major hub cities. Here are some examples through kayak.com, Ukrainian Airlines (a top-rated airline which John has often used), Atlas Jet (also a top-rated airline from Turkey) and Aeroflot (often flown by John while on assignments in the region).

Prices may vary however as of December 10, 2015, here are a few price options selected cities:

  • New York, JFK-EVN on Ukrainian Airlines — $635 USD R/T
  • Los Angeles, LAX-EVN on Aeroflot — $835 R/T
  • London, LGW-EVEN on Ukrainian Airlines — $372 R/T
  • Paris, CDG-EVN on Atlas Jet — $238 R/T
  • Singapore, SIN-EVEN on mixed carriers — $956 R/T
  • Bangkok, BKK-EVN on Aeroflot departing/returning any day — $741 R/T

Airport transport to Villa Kars from the airport in Yerevan can be arranged by the hotel. Please inquire if needing such services.

Deposit

A $1,000 nonrefundable deposit is payable on confirmation of a space in the workshop. To receive the 10% or 20% discount options, the remaining balance must be paid by February 1, 2016. If registering after February 1, 2016, deposit and full payment must be received by February 25, 2016.

Cancellation policy: A 50-percent refund will be given up to one week prior to the start of the workshop for any participant who has paid in full for the workshop, however the $1,000 deposit is not refundable for any reason of cancellation — The reason for this is due to the high preparation costs, staffing fees and other significant expense to run international workshops prior to the start of workshop.

Spouse/partner of a participant are allowed to share the room of a participant in the workshop but cannot partake in the actual workshop. There is an added fee for a second person in the room. Please inquire if bringing a spouse or partner.
